- Robert Mugabe Passed at Age 95
The former president of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, has died at age 95 in a hospital in Singapore on 6th September 2019.
Mugabe died after battling ill health following a military coup that ousted him from power in November 2017.
In 1980, Robert Mugabe became prime minister through election but in 1987 he abolished the office and became president instead.
Mugabe successor, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, said: “It is with the utmost sadness that I announce the passing on of Zimbabwe’s founding father and former President, Cde Robert Mugabe.”
