Fire Outbreak: Katangowa on Fire

  • Fire Outbreak: Katangowa on Fire

Less than 24 hours after Yoruba and Hausa traders clash in Ilepo Market, the popular Katangowa market in the same area has caught fire.

According to an eye witness, the fire started during the early hours of Monday in the Agbado/Okeodo Local Council of Lagos State.

Shops opposite the Central Mosque in the market were most affected as the fire outbreak destroyed the entire stretch of fairly used shops in that part of the market.

However, officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and men of state fire service are already on the ground to put off the fire as at the time of filing this report.

Also, policemen from the Okeodo Divisional Headquarters are on ground to prevent the looting of unaffected shops.
