Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi Dies Aged 92

President Beji Caid Essebsi of Tunisia has died on Thursday, the country’s presidency stated.

Essebsi, 92, was the world’s oldest sitting president before his death.

According to reports, he was admitted to hospital on Wednesday but no official detail of his treatment was released.

In 2014, Essebsi won Tunisia’s first free elections after Arab uprisings across the region.
