The NYSC Director-General, Brig Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim, gives a green light with respect to the new minimum wage (allowance) for Corps member.

The Director-General, who spoke at the Freedom of Information Desk Officer’s workshop held in the state Capital, Abuja on Friday, said the implementation of the new minimum wage N30,000 will be communicated accordingly.

The proposed new allowance has been a rumored for a long while before an official statement was made by the former NYSC DG Brig-Gen. Sulaiman Kazaure, late 2018, he said that the increase in corps members’ monthly allowance would be determined by the new national minimum wage when it takes effect.

“The Federal Government had set-up a committee to look into the upward review of the Minimum Wage which he said will also determine the increase of the corps members’ allowance.

“We have been assured that when the new minimum wage takes effect, also the corps members allowance will be reviewed upward”, Kazaure assured.

With the new Information, hopes are high up as the new mobilized corps members print out call up letters and resume at their various orientations camps in the country.

We wish the new corps members a wonderful experience as they take up the mantle to serve, build and develop their father’s land.
