Internet accessibility continues to grow in Nigeria as more people can now access the internet, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has stated.

In a monthly report released by the NCC on Monday, the total number of internet subscribers increased from 114,725,357 in February to 115,938,225 in March. Representing an increase of 1,212,868 new subscribers.

The reported showed Airtel, MTN and Globacom gained more internet subscribers during the period under review, while more subscribers left 9mobile.

Globalcom attracted the most internet subscribers, gaining 950,115 new internet users to bring its total subscription to 28,436,386 in March.

Followed by Airtel that added 351,657 new internet users to existing 30,891,518 as at February to bring its current total to 31,243,185 in March.

MTN added 13,522 new internet users in March bringing its total 46,552,185. While 9Mobile lost 166,542 internet users in March.

The report showed Visafone added 64,076 in March, but nothing was recorded in February.
