- FC Barcelona Emerges 2018/19 La Liga Champions
FC Barcelona defeated Levante at Camp Nou on Saturday to emerged the 2018/19 La Liga Champions.
The Saturday wins eliminated second-place Atletico Madrid from contention and gave Ernesto Valverde’s team its first title of the season with three league games still to play. Making it the fastest La Liga title won by Barca in the 21st century.

“To win the title with a distance and gap is difficult with the rivals we have. We’ve done it two years in a row,” Barca coach Ernesto Valverde told Movistar.
“We’re happy and to see people enjoying it makes us proud. But we still have challenges ahead.”

The Argentine star, Lionel Messi, led Barcelona to a record breaking eight title wins in 11 seasons. Messi scored the only goal in a 1-0 win at home to Levante. The Argentine has now won a total of 10 league titles for the Barcelona.
“In the end, he scored the goal. He always scores goals everywhere,” Valverde said of Messi after the game.
