The Central Bank of Nigeria plans to borrow N1.006 trillion from the debt market in the second quarter of 2019.

The apex bank disclosed this in a data published on the Nigerian treasury bills issue programme for the second quarter of 2019 on Tuesday.

The data showed the central bank will raise a total of N503.16 billion from rollover programmes with a maturity period ranging from one to three years.

As part of central bank roles to raise funds for the government, the CBN sells treasure bills twice a month.
