The Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Bello, has presented a proposed budget of N159.52 billion to the State House of Assembly for approval.

The proposed budget, titled: “Budget of Sustenance and Continuity” is 5.43 per cent more than the 2018 budget.

Analysis of the budget showed that 60.31 per cent or N96.20 billion of the budget was appropriated for capital projects, while 39.69 per cent or N63.69 billion was allocated for recurrent expenditure.

The administrative sector was apportioned N8.755 billion; economic sector, N56.032 billion; social sector, N29.876 billion; and law and justice, N1.540 billion, all expenses are from capital expenditure.

The governor said the 2019 estimate would focus on completion of ongoing projects that directly impact on lives of the citizens.

He listed projects in the educational sector, agricultural sector, social development areas, infrastructure development, water resources and to further stimulate the economy.
