British Nigerian, Anthony Joshua, stopped Russian challenger Alexander Povetkin in round 7 to retain all his four belts.

Povetkin, who until now has never been stopped, won round one and two and even rocked Anthony Joshua in the very first round. Just as experts predicted, he was a tough competitor and proved that tonight before he got caught in round 7.

In round 7, a fierce right hand stunned Povetkin, followed by series of combinations that put the Russian down, Povetkin tries to get back up but Anthony Joshua landed a killer punch that finally earned him his first knockout since April 2017 when he stopped Wladimir Klitschko in round 11.

“I got my knockout streak back,” Anthony Joshua said after the fight.

He further stated that Povetkin is a tough challenger with a very good left hook and counter punches.

“I knew he was strong to the head but weak to the body. I was just mixing it up.”

“It could have been seven, maybe nine, maybe 12 rounds to get him out of there. But the ultimate aim was to be victorious.”

Joshua is now expected to face American champion Deontay Wilder in April 2019 at Wembley Stadium, UK national stadium.

This fight has taken Anthony Joshua total wins to 22, with 20 coming by the way of knockouts, 1 by technical knockout and 1 unanimous decision against Joseph Parker from New Zealand.
