- Dangote Sugar Refinery Appoints COO
Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc says it has appointed Mr Ravindra Singhvi as the chief operating officer of the company.
The firm, in a letter to the Nigerian Stock Exchange signed by the Company Secretary, Chioma Madubuko, said Singhvi’s appointment took effect from August 13, 2018.
She said Singhvi had over 37 years of proven experience in leadership positions in manufacturing and processes in sugar, petrochemicals, cement, and textiles products industries in India.
According to Madubuko, prior to joining Dangote Sugar Refinery, Singhvi was the managing director and chief executive officer of NSL Sugar Limited, and the president of Indo Rama Group.
She said, “Singhvi has experience in turning around some of the companies he has managed in the sugar industry. He has also helped companies improve their operational and financial performance and raise substantial amount of loans for projects and working capital from local as well as international banks.
“One significant achievement was the signing of the power purchase agreement of 550 megawatts with the government of Karnataka State for various sugar companies. He was the chairman of the Committee for Sugar Association for drafting the new Sugar Cane Act in the State of Karnataka for fixation of sugar cane price.”
