The Lagos Business School is set to launch a financial inclusion report through an art exhibition in Lagos.

Speaking in Lagos, a Research Fellow, SIDFS, Lagos Business School, Immanuel Umukoro, said the report uncovered insights and presented data that could aid the achievement of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy goal of 80 per cent financial inclusion by 2020.

He added that the report would be unveiled at a two-week art exhibition this month.

According to him, the report, which is being launched by the Sustainable and Inclusive Digital Financial Services initiative, in partnership with Dalberg and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, examined the under-banked and unserved consumer segments in the country.

He said the institution planned to present the research report entitled, ‘The Consumer Segmentation Framework’, in a curated exhibition, portraying the persona of the customer segments identified to help key stakeholders such as regulators, operators and development organisations connect with the realities of the segments that they sought to serve.

Umukoro added that the exhibition would aid the drive towards developing a sustainable framework to attain financial inclusion for Nigerians.

He said, “This exhibition will help key stakeholders better appreciate and come to terms with the reality of the audience that they seek to serve. Our evidence-based approach employs scientific and analytical methods to acquire and explore consumer and operator data, from which we uncover insights which drive innovative product development.

“These are not just economic in nature but consumer-centric, and will also spur reforms that are able to catalyse the digital financial services ecosystem in Nigeria.”

The co-Founder and Director, Video Art Network Lagos, Oyinda Fakeye, who is also the curator of the art exhibition, said the exhibition employed the power of audio-visual realism to portray the customer segmentation profile in such a way that it would allow stakeholders connect deeply with the personas that they sought to engage, in a bid to create fit-for-purpose interventions.
