  • Nigeria’s Trade Office Gets Equipment From Chinese Firms

Six Chinese firms, under the auspices of China Chamber of Commerce, have donated computers, printers, projectors and projector screens to the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations.

A statement from the chamber noted that the donation was in furtherance of its commitment to the economic development of Nigeria.

The statement quoted the chamber’s President, Mr. Ye Shuijin, as saying that its main objective was to make its products available for Nigerians to experience and create jobs in the country.

Shuijin commended the Nigerian government for providing an enabling investment environment for Chinese firms operating in the country, adding that the firms had benefited greatly from the Nigeria and China trade relationship for many years.

He stated that some Chinese firms had operated in Nigeria for over 30 years.

“The Nigerian government has provided an enabling environment for Chinese investors in the country to succeed through good investment environment and policies. Nigeria and China can effectively promote their export capacities through their trade policies,” he added.

Shuijin noted that China was looking for an opportunity to assist Nigerian companies to produce and process agricultural produce for export to his country, other African nations and the rest of the world.

The companies that made the donation are CGC Nigeria Limited, CCECC Nigeria Limited, Power China International Group Limited, CGGC Nigeria Limited, China Harbour Nigeria Limited and HuaweiTech Nigeria Limited, the statement added.

The Director-General, NOTN, Chiedu Osakwe, was quoted as saying that bilateral trade relationship between both countries would enable Nigeria to accelerate growth and create jobs for the citizens.
