The Corporate Affairs Commission has said customers and other stakeholders will examine issues being encountered in the course of company registration, among others, during its forthcoming forum.

The CAC said in a statement that the second Customers’ Forum in the first quarter of the year would take place on Thursday in Ikeja, Lagos.

It said the first was held in Kano on March 15, 2018, with the commission’s various stakeholders, including its accredited customers.

The statement read in part, “The CAC Customers’ Forum is interactive in nature and provides opportunity for the commission’s esteemed accredited customers, stakeholders and members of the public to directly engage top management of the commission on all its services.

“It also serves as a veritable window for top management of the commission to provide first-hand information on the commission’s products and services. The forum is organised periodically in furtherance of efforts to deepen communication with the commission’s customers and other stakeholders.”

According to the statement, there will be presentation and demonstration on frequently encountered issues at the forum and the use of the companies’ registration portal, which enables customers to register their businesses online.

It added, “Other benefits accruable to participants are opportunity for instant registration at no extra charge. At the last forum in Kano, instant registration took place and certificates were generated and issued to the beneficiaries by the acting registrar-general.

“Persons desirous of registering their businesses during the programme are, therefore, enjoined to come along with means of identification (national driver’s licence, national identity card, travel passport or permanent voter’s card), two passport photographs and payment cards, as payment for the commission services is strictly online.”

According to the statement, expected at the forum, among others, are legal practitioners, chartered accountants, chartered secretaries, members of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture; Manufacturers Association of Nigeria; entrepreneurs and members of the general public.
