- Average Bond Yield Closes at 13.80%
Trading activities in the Treasury bonds space was negative on Wednesday as the average yield on Treasury bonds advanced by 0.04 per cent to settle at 13.80 per cent.
The yields on 11 instruments settled higher, while the May-2018, June-2019, and October-2019 traded downwards.
The naira, according to Meristem data, traded flat against the dollar at both the interbank and parallel market foreign exchange markets, to close at N306 and N362, respectively.
Buying pressure prevailed in the Treasury bills space, as the average yield on T-bills dropped by 0.25 per cent, to close at 14.92 per cent. The yields on the one-month, three-month, nine-month and 12-month instruments all declined, shedding 0.57 per cent, 0.28 per cent, 0.19 per cent and 0.29 per cent, respectively.
The six-month instrument however advanced by 0.08 per cent.
The open buy-back and overnight rate declined by 7.33 per cent and 6.67 per cent, to settle at 12 per cent and 13.25 per cent, respectively. Consequently, the average money market rate settled at 12.63 per cent at the close of trading on Wednesday.
