- FG Promises to Support FECA With Training Equipment
The Federal Government has promised to provide some multi-million naira agricultural equipment for the training of the students of the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, Ondo State.
The Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh made the promise when he paid a facility visit to the college on Friday.
He explained that the gesture was to support the institution in producing quality agricultural graduates who will be employers of labour through agriculture in the nearest future.
Some of the equipment the minister pledged to provide included a milking machine for the diary farm, crusher for the manufacturing of feed for livestock, flash dryer for high quality cassava flour and bio-fortified value chain as well as forage seeds for the resuscitation of grazing paddock.
Ogbeh said, “The equipment will support the training of young people who have voluntarily chosen agriculture in becoming accomplished farmers in the country.”
According to him, the visit became necessary in order to access the various innovative centres established under the current management of FECA.
