- NEPZA to Accelerate Reforms in Free Trade Zones
The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority on Wednesday said it would this year accelerate its ongoing reforms in the Free Trade Zones across the country.
The Managing Director, NEPZA, Mr. Emmanuel Jime, said this during his first interactive meeting with members of staff of the agency.
He stated that the reforms would be accelerated following the appointment of a board for NEPZA under the chairmanship of a former Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Olusegun Oni.
Jime described the chairman as an experience hand who would add value to the agency and revolutionise its operations.
He said the appointment of the board would complement the ongoing restructuring, repositioning and rebranding efforts of the agency under his watch.
The NEPZA boss added, “We are delighted with the coming of our long awaited board chaired by Mr. Segun Oni, one-time governor of Ekiti State. We have great expectations from him and his distinguished members, Messrs Kabiru Tafida, Sadiq Gwarzo and Taiwo Okunlola.
“The chairman is a former governor, and with his rich, composite and cosmopolitan experience, we know he and his able team would revolutionise our operations.”
