- CIBN President to Deliver CU Inaugural Lecture
The President, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Prof. Segun Ajibola, will deliver Caleb University’s third inaugural lecture and mark his 60th birthday this week.
In a statement by the CIBN Lagos State branch on Wednesday, Ajibola was described as a consummate professional whose achievement had traversed the landscape of the banking community and the economy in general.
The scholar, who had served his two-year term as the chairman of the Lagos State branch of the CIBN between 2006 and 2008, became the president/chairman of Council of the institute last year.
The Lagos State branch of the institute noted in the statement that it would continue to be proud of the achievements of the president.
The statement read in part, “To many, Prof. Segun Ajibola, the president/chairman of Council of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria is an erudite scholar, embodiment of simplicity and an epitome of exceptional humility. But, to his professional colleagues, he is a quintessential achiever in all ramifications.
“The footprints of his professional achievements are indelibly imprinted across a wider spectrum of horizons and he strides like a colossus in every sphere of his endeavours.”
The institute stated that while Ajibola was the chairman of the CIBN Lagos State branch, “It is on record that he aggressively embarked on expanded membership drive and developed the branch into a major revenue-generating engine. Indeed, he attained a height yet unequalled within the two years’ period of his leadership.”
The institute further noted that Prof Ajibola’s tenure as the current president/chairman of Council of the CIBN had been characterised with various milestone events and pioneering innovations that are typical of him.
