- Lufthansa Increases Destinations to 288 for 2017/18 Winter
Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings, as airlines under the Lufthansa Group, have announced an increase in winter flight schedule for 2017 and 2018 on routes that will include Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt via Frankfurt.
According to the group, in the upcoming winter flight schedule for 2017/18, the airlines will be offering their customers precisely 24,922 weekly flights worldwide, and will connect 288 destinations in 106 countries.
“In addition, there will be more than 18,000 codeshare flights with around 30 partner airlines supplementing the respective flight programmes, offering passengers an almost worldwide network of routes. The winter flight schedule of the individual group airlines will come into force on Sunday October 29, 2017, and will be valid until Saturday March 24, 2018,” the group said in a statement.
The group also said its most important new routes would have Lufthansa offering flights between Berlin and New York five times a week from November 8, 2017 and resume the Düsseldorf – Miami, USA connection, among others.
It added that from the end of October, Lufthansa would start operating flights to many new winter destinations including Pamplona (Spain), Genoa, Bari, Catania (all in Italy), Kuusamo (Finland), Cluj and Timișoara (both Romania) from Frankfurt, while other airlines in the group would be adding new routes within the period.
