Siemens Nigeria has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Edo State Government as part of measures to boost power supply in the state.

A statement from the company said as outlined in the MoU, Siemens had been included as a key participant in the Joint Development Committee of the state.

It said the committee was set up by the state to sustainably develop and implement the establishment of power generation and critical infrastructure, particularly mobility within the state to enhance the economic strength of the state.

The statement read, “The Edo State Government, in partnership with Siemens, is engaging key stakeholders in the Edo State power sector with the clear objective of ensuring that power is delivered to the state.

“As well as our joint development of power generation projects and the analysis of the Edo State Transportation Infrastructure, the JDC intends to set up a human capital development programme and make recommendations for relevant sustainable development initiatives wherever they can and should be undertaken.”
