Investors on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) gained approximately N299 billion on Monday as renewed buying interest pushed the equity market capitalisation to N163.95 trillion.

Market capitalisation increased from N163.655 trillion recorded on Friday to N163.955 trillion, representing an increase of approximately N299.36 billion.

The NGX All-Share Index also advanced by 453.43 points, or 0.18 percent to 252,566.84 points from 252,113.41 points at the close of the previous trading session.

Trading activity strengthened considerably by volume with investors exchanging 1.014 billion shares worth N39.02 billion in 61,517 deals.

Accordingly, trading volume increased by approximately 43.1 percent, while the number of deals jumped 44.8 percent.
