Transcorp Hotels Plc Reports Strong 48% Revenue Growth, Records ₦14.8 Billion Profit in 9M 2025
Transcorp Hotels Plc has reported a strong financial performance for the nine months ended September 30, 2025, with revenue rising by 48.9% year-on-year to ₦72.31 billion, up from ₦48.49 billion in the corresponding period of 2024.
The growth was driven by improved occupancy levels, higher room rates, and increased patronage at the company’s hospitality and event facilities, including the newly commissioned 5,000-seat event centre.
Revenue and Profit Growth
The Group maintained its upward trajectory across all core metrics. Gross profit increased by 60.4% to ₦55.06 billion compared to ₦34.33 billion in 2024, reflecting the impact of cost discipline and efficiency in operations.
Despite inflationary pressure and foreign exchange volatility, operating expenses were well managed at ₦30.87 billion, representing a controlled increase from ₦20.66 billion recorded in the same period last year.
Consequently, operating profit rose to ₦24.69 billion from ₦18.63 billion, while profit before tax advanced by 36.3% to ₦22.40 billion, compared to ₦16.44 billion in 2024.
After accounting for income tax of ₦7.58 billion, profit after tax stood at ₦14.82 billion, representing a 44.7% year-on-year increase from ₦10.24 billion reported in the previous year.
Earnings per share (EPS) improved to ₦1.45, up from ₦1.00 in 2024, reflecting stronger earnings capacity and sustained value creation for shareholders.
Quarterly Breakdown
For the third quarter of 2025, the company generated ₦24.74 billion in revenue, up from ₦18.77 billion in Q3 2024. Profit before tax rose to ₦10.18 billion, compared to ₦5.97 billion in the corresponding quarter, while profit after tax climbed to ₦6.14 billion, from ₦3.62 billion last year.
Total comprehensive income for the quarter reached ₦6.58 billion, driven by both operational growth and a ₦430.19 million fair value gain on equity instruments.
This performance highlights the company’s ability to maintain strong margins and profitability amidst macroeconomic headwinds.
Operational Efficiency
The Group achieved a gross margin of 76% and maintained an operating margin above 34%, demonstrating effective cost control and operational excellence.
