The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) ended Monday on a mild positive note as the All-Share Index (ASI) advanced 0.07% to close at 144,722.47 points.

Market activity was solid as investors traded 1,146,660,725 shares in 38,160 deals with a total turnover value of ₦16,173,879,748.29.

The equities market capitalization finished at ₦91.56 trillion, while the bond market cap stood at ₦51.43 trillion. The ETF market cap closed at ₦42.15 billion.

Summary

The session closed with a marginal index gain, supported by notable advances in select counters that printed at or near the 10% daily limit.

Banking heavyweights were mixed, with STANBIC weighing on the losers’ chart. Turnover remained elevated, led by activity in the insurance and consumer pockets, as UNIVINSURE and CHAMPION dominated flows.

ETF prints were firm with MERGROWTH and VETGRIF30 advancing by about 10% apiece.
