Berger Paints Nigeria Plc Reports 614% Profit Growth in H1 2025, Revenue Up 23%

Berger Paints Nigeria Plc has reported a profit after tax of ₦624.64 million for the six months ended June 30, 2025, representing a 614 percent increase from ₦87.52 million in the corresponding period of 2024, according to its unaudited interim financial statements obtained by Investors King.

Revenue and Gross Profit

Group revenue grew 23 percent year-on-year to ₦6.16 billion, compared to ₦5.02 billion in H1 2024. Gross profit nearly doubled, rising 88 percent to ₦2.72 billion from ₦1.45 billion, supported by improved sales performance and better cost efficiencies.

Operating Performance

Operating profit surged to ₦928.83 million in H1 2025, compared to ₦142.75 million a year earlier, representing a 551 percent increase. At the company level, operating profit rose 568 percent to ₦909.08 million from ₦136.01 million.

Profit before taxation climbed 635 percent to ₦945.82 million, up from ₦128.71 million in H1 2024. After taxation, group profit closed at ₦624.64 million, compared to ₦87.52 million in the same period last year.

Shareholder Value

Basic earnings per share rose sharply to 216 kobo, from 30 kobo in H1 2024, reflecting a 620 percent increase. Net assets per share improved to ₦14 from ₦13 in the prior year, while total equity grew 9 percent to ₦4.16 billion.

The company’s market capitalization doubled to ₦8.69 billion as of June 30, 2025, compared to ₦4.35 billion a year earlier, with the share price closing at ₦30, up from ₦15 in H1 2024.
