Ellah Lakes Appoints Hewett Benson as Chief Financial Officer to Drive Transformation Agenda
Ellah Lakes Plc has announced the appointment of Mr. Hewett Benson as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective July 1, 2025, as part of the company’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its executive leadership and deepen its agro-industrial footprint in West Africa.
The appointment, which complies with the Listing Rules of Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and the Issuers’ Rules on Disclosure of Material Information, comes at a pivotal time as the company accelerates its transition to a vertically integrated agro-industrial group.
Mr. Benson is an accomplished finance executive with extensive experience spanning capital markets, asset management, and large-scale corporate transformation.
His international background covers both developed and emerging markets, equipping him with deep insights into cross-border capital structuring, project finance, fund management and commercial strategy in asset-intensive sectors.
Widely recognized for leading complex transformation initiatives, Mr. Benson has successfully executed capital raising mandates across debt and equity markets and structured strategic partnerships aimed at sustainable value creation.
His proven ability to align financial strategy with evolving consumer dynamics and growth priorities will be instrumental as Ellah Lakes expands its regional operations.

Mr. Benson holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College London, a Postgraduate Certificate in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Cambridge and a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
His appointment underscores Ellah Lakes’ commitment to reinforcing its financial management capability and enhancing governance structures in alignment with its long-term growth strategy.
