UBA Introduces Afrigo Card Offering Nigerians a Secure Local Payment Option

United Bank for Africa has launched the Afrigo Card a domestic payment solution designed to enhance financial inclusion and strengthen Nigeria’s digital economy.
The card introduced in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System provides an alternative to international card schemes offering seamless naira-denominated transactions tailored for the local market.
The Afrigo Card is built to offer security affordability and accessibility for everyday transactions supporting the apex bank’s efforts to promote cashless payments. Equipped with chip-and-PIN security it allows users to perform transactions at ATMs and POS terminals across the country with 24/7 access to funds.
Driving Financial Inclusion with Local Innovation
UBA has positioned the Afrigo Card as a solution for diverse demographics including market traders students low-income earners and small business owners.
The bank emphasizes that the card provides a flexible and cost-effective way to manage finances while ensuring financial security.

The Afrigo Debit Card is available at all UBA branches for N1,000 plus N75 VAT.
