FIRS Opens Portal for 2025 Recruitment: How to Apply

Nigerians interested in applying for the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) recruitment, can start processing their applications as the service has opened its recruitment portal calling on applicants to apply for vacant positions.

In a public statement made available to Investors King on Monday, December 23, the FIRS assured Nigerians of a transparent process urging qualified candidates, especially unemployed Nigerians to seize the opportunity to serve the country.

The service strongly encouraged citizens with integrity and willingness to make an impact in public service and contribute to national development to apply.

According to the statement, selected candidates would receive adequate training to occupy different vacancies in the organization.

The FIRS however noted that only qualified and experienced candidates would be contacted after the application process.

The agency announced that the recruitment portal will be made accessible for applicants from Monday, December 23, 2024, to January 11, 2025, emphasizing that applicants who fail to meet this deadline would be disqualified.

The FIRS advised applicants to ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria before applying as the recruitment process would be strictly on merit.

The statement advised interested and qualified candidates to visit http://careers.firs.gov.ng and follow the outlined instructions to apply.

Applications can also be processed via FIRS’s verified social media handles.

Announcing the commencement of the process, the FIRS stated, “Public Notice.

“Join us! We are hiring into experienced positions.

“Before applying, please note the eligibility criteria in the flyer,” the notice read.

Besides possessing relevant qualifications and professional certificates as specified for the applied positions, applicants must meet the following requirements:

– A Bachelor’s Degree or HND with at least a Second Class Lower/Lower Credit.

– Completion of the NYSC programme not later than December 31, 2017.

– Applicants for Assistant Manager and Deputy Manager positions must be no older than 40 years as of December 31, 2024, while applicants for Senior Manager and Assistant Director roles must not exceed 45 years of age on the same date.

– Strong leadership and management skills.

– Strong team spirit and the ability to delegate effectively.

– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

– Strong analytical skills.

– Knowledge of Nigerian Tax Laws and an understanding of their application within the FIRS regulatory framework.

– Familiarity with the business/industry environment within which taxpayers operate.
– Ability to work as a regulator and ensure full compliance with laws.
