Sanwo-Olu Unveils Lagos Revenue Portal to Simplify Tax Payments

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has launched the Lagos Revenue Portal (LRP), a digital platform designed to streamline and simplify tax payments for both businesses and residents across the state.

The portal, which was unveiled at a ceremony in Lagos, is set to revolutionize the way revenue is collected, promoting efficiency, transparency, and ease of access.

The Lagos Revenue Portal is a one-stop shop for all taxpayers, aggregating bills and payments across all ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) within the state.

By eliminating the need for physical visits to government offices and bank branches, the portal aims to save time and reduce the hassle associated with tax payments.

Speaking at the event, Governor Sanwo-Olu said efficient revenue collection is important in driving the state’s development.

“Today, we are gathered to witness yet another milestone in our collective effort to transform Lagos into the most business-friendly state in Nigeria,” Sanwo-Olu said. “The LRP represents our commitment to innovation, transparency, and ease of doing business in Lagos State.”

The governor highlighted the critical role that revenue plays in funding essential services and infrastructure projects that improve the quality of life for Lagosians.

He noted that the new portal would make the tax payment process less cumbersome for users, thereby encouraging greater compliance and boosting the state’s revenue base.

“Through this platform, we are removing barriers to compliance, promoting a culture of accountability and transparency in revenue collection, and enhancing the ease of doing business in Lagos,” Sanwo-Olu stated. “This portal is not just a tool; it is a game-changer in our broader vision of making Lagos a smart city where technology and innovation drive progress.”

The LRP is accessible via both secure web and mobile application channels, providing users with a seamless and convenient way to manage their tax obligations.

The portal also facilitates easy payer registration, allowing individuals and businesses to access their profiles online and complete the registration process with ease.

The launch of the Lagos Revenue Portal aligns with the state government’s ongoing efforts to digitize its operations and enhance service delivery.

By adopting this digital solution, Lagos State is setting a new standard for governance, positioning itself as a model for other states in Nigeria and beyond.

As part of his comments, Sanwo-Olu reiterated the government’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve governance and service delivery.

“We are setting a standard for other states to follow,” he said. “Our goal is to ensure that Lagos remains a leader in innovation, transparency, and efficiency in public administration.”

With the introduction of the Lagos Revenue Portal, the state government is taking a significant step toward achieving its vision of a smart city, where technology not only facilitates business operations but also enhances the overall quality of life for its residents.
