In a statement detailing its operational achievements during the six months ended September 30, 2023, MultiChoice expressed its ongoing commitment to making school sports accessible across all societal levels through the SuperSport Schools initiative.

The company’s strategic focus on technology investment and staying ahead of evolving consumer video consumption trends was emphasized.

With increased investment in Showmax, MultiChoice is preparing for an exciting re-launch in the second half of the financial year.

Calvo Mawela, Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice, highlighted the company’s dedication to developing a leading entertainment platform tailored to consumer needs in sub-Saharan Africa.

He emphasized leveraging their footprint to build a differentiated ecosystem and exploring additional revenue streams.

The statement also highlighted the positive impact of three world cups, particularly the Springboks’ success in becoming back-to-back Rugby World Cup champions, contributing to heightened subscriber activity.

Notably, the South African Premium customer base experienced a 5% growth, marking a positive trend after several years.
