New Leadership Appointed by President Tinubu for the Marine and Blue Economy Sector

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of two distinguished Chief Executive Officers to head key Parastatals and Agencies under the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

These appointments are in alignment with the recommendations of the Honourable Minister, H.E. Adegboyega Oyetola.

Alhaji Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, a seasoned economist with over 28 years of industry experience, has been named as the Managing Director and CEO of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).

He brings a wealth of financial and administrative expertise, having previously served as the Osun State Commissioner of Finance, where he steered the state’s financial trajectory upward.

Mr. Akutah Pius Ukeyima, a legal expert with a Master’s degree in Public International Law, has been appointed as the Executive Secretary and CEO of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC).

Mr. Ukeyima has a distinguished track record, having most recently led the Central Authority Unit for International Cooperation in Criminal Matters within the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation.

President Tinubu has entrusted these new appointees with the vital task of faithfully executing the policies and programs outlined by the Honourable Minister.

This appointment reflects the commitment to expedite and enhance revenue generation and investments, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s Blue Economy strategy.

It represents a significant step forward in promoting the growth and prosperity of Nigeria’s marine and blue economy sector.
