Kano State Governor Announces N20,000 Stipend for Schoolgirls to Boost Education

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, announced a game-changing initiative during his Independence Day speech at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

The governor declared a pioneering pilot scheme that will provide a N20,000 stipend to over 45,000 schoolgirls in the state, aiming to encourage them to attend school regularly.

Also, Governor Yusuf revealed plans to reintroduce girl-child school buses to facilitate safe transportation to and from schools, ensuring that no barriers prevent girls from accessing quality education.

Additionally, the state government is committed to establishing more primary and secondary schools across all 44 local government areas in Kano to address the issue of out-of-school children.

The governor shows his administration’s dedication to education by providing free uniforms, school bags, shoes, exercise books, and textbooks to primary and Junior Secondary School pupils.

Also, a plan is in place to offer one free meal per day to primary school pupils.

Governor Yusuf’s commitment to education extends globally, with the sponsorship of 1001 first-class graduates to pursue Master’s degrees abroad, showcasing Kano State’s dedication to addressing unemployment and poverty.

On the occasion of Nigeria’s independence anniversary, Governor Abba Yusuf paid tribute to the nation’s courageous freedom fighters, emphasizing his administration’s determination to overcome the challenges of unemployment, poverty, and youth restiveness, as Kano State takes bold steps toward a brighter and more prosperous future.
