Ethiopian Airlines Group to Boost Weekly Flights to Seoul

Ethiopian Airlines Group, a rapidly expanding global airline brand and the largest carrier on the African continent, has unveiled plans to ramp up its weekly passenger flights to Seoul, Republic of Korea, to six times a week starting from October 28, 2023.

The airline will also introduce its state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft on this route.

This increase in flight frequency follows productive discussions between aviation authorities in Korea and Ethiopia.

It serves as a testament to the burgeoning socio-economic ties and the ever-growing multifaceted partnership between Korea and the entire African continent.

Speaking about this exciting development, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mr. Mesfin Tasew stated, “Ethiopian is the sole African carrier connecting Seoul to the continent and beyond. The additional flights will play a significant role in bolstering economic, cultural, and social interactions, providing travelers with more diverse and convenient connectivity options. As a pan-African carrier, we take pride in enhancing flight options between Addis Ababa, the diplomatic capital of Africa, and Seoul, the burgeoning hub of East Asia.”

Mr. Tasew also expressed his deep appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Korea for its support in strengthening Ethiopian’s flight frequencies.

This expansion not only reflects Ethiopian Airlines Group’s commitment to facilitating global connectivity but also underscores the importance of robust international partnerships in fostering growth and development in the airline industry.
