The Management of Dangote Refinery has swiftly responded to a report circulated on various online media platforms, alleging the employment of 11,000 skilled workers from India while purportedly sidelining Nigerian youths and other African nationals.

Setting the record straight, Anthony Chiejina, the Group’s Chief Branding & Communications Officer, dismissed the report as being driven by malicious intent. He clarified that the report failed to accurately represent the substantial number of skilled Nigerian workers involved in the project.

Chiejina emphasized that the scale and complexity of the refinery project necessitated a highly specialized and diverse skilled workforce from across the globe. While over 30,000 Nigerians have been actively engaged in various skilled roles, it is essential to recognize that, during the peak of construction at the Refinery complex, 6,400 Indians and 3,250 Chinese workers were also part of the skilled workforce.

The Group’s Chief Branding & Communications Officer proudly highlighted the technical competence demonstrated by Nigerian workers on the project, with many hidden skills being uncovered among them.

Chiejina urged the public to dismiss such malicious and distorted reports and instead focus on acknowledging the potential impact of the project on Nigeria’s overall economy and the well-being of its citizens.

The Dangote Group remains committed to being a beacon of employment generation, consistently providing opportunities for Nigerian workers and positively contributing to the nation’s growth and development.
