Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, a leading player in the Nigerian financial market, has announced the confirmation of the appointment of Ms. Obehi Ikhaghe as the substantive Company Secretary.

The appointment, which was approved during the Board’s meeting on 14 July 2023, solidifies Ms. Ikhaghe’s position as a pivotal member of the company’s executive team.

Ms. Ikhaghe, a seasoned lawyer with a distinguished career, had been serving as the acting Company Secretary since January 2023, stepping into the role after the departure of the former Company Secretary, Mrs. Mojisola Adeola.

During her tenure as the acting Company Secretary, Ms. Ikhaghe demonstrated exemplary skills and an in-depth understanding of corporate law, compliance, and general legal practice, leading to her elevation to the substantive position.

With over 14 years of professional experience, Ms. Ikhaghe has garnered expertise in various legal domains, including Company Secretarial, Corporate Governance, and Corporate Law.

Her extensive background in the legal landscape, coupled with her proficiency in navigating complex regulatory frameworks, has made her a valuable asset to Nigerian Exchange Group Plc.

Before joining Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, Ms. Ikhaghe served as Legal Counsel and Company Secretary of the Ready Mix and Aggregates Division at Lafarge Africa Plc.

Her contributions to Lafarge were widely acclaimed, and she played an integral role in ensuring legal compliance and adherence to corporate governance standards.

A law graduate of the prestigious University of Lagos, Ms. Ikhaghe holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree. She further pursued her academic pursuits and earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the same institution, further honing her legal acumen.
