Flutterwave CEO Olugbenga Agboola Splashes Millions of Dollars on New Home in Florida

Co-Founder and CEO of Nigeria’s fintech company Flutterwave, Olugbenga Agboola has recently acquired a luxurious Miami beach home for $7.1 million (N3.2 billion).

Records reveal that the non-waterfront six-bedroom mansion which is located at 4585 Nautilus Drive, Miami, was formerly owned and managed by the Boschetti Group, a Florida-based real estate development company known for creating properties that enhance communities and provide value. The property was reportedly bought for $1.2 million in 2021 by the group.

Agboola’s acquisition of the property has seen him join the likes of tech founder Steve Walbroehl, founder of Miami-based blockchain security startup Halborn, who also acquired a non-waterfront home in Miami Beach’s Lakeview for $8.6 million in October last year.

Before becoming the CEO of Flutterwave, Agboola was a Chief Technology Officer at the company. He previously worked at Africa Fintech Foundry as a Senior Entrepreneur In Residence, and attended MIT Sloan School of Management.

Aside from being a fintech engineer and an entrepreneur, Agboola is also a certified ethical hacker, security analyst, and Microsoft system engineer. He has also assisted in the growth of a few Fintech companies and financial services like PayPal and Standard Bank.

His company is headquartered in San Francisco, California, in the United States, but operates in Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, and other African countries. The startup is one of the top 5 Fintech unicorns in Africa, which has raised $474.5 million in funding so far. The company’s valuation reached $3 billion last year according to multiple sources.

It has processed more than 200 million transactions estimated at over $16 billion since inception and served more than 900,000 businesses across the world, Investors King understands.

Agboola was listed on Fortune‘s 40 Under 40 list in 2020. He was also on Time‘s Next 100 list in 2021. In April 2022, he received the Tech Investor of the Year award in the Business Insider Africa awards.

On the 11th of October 2022, Olugbenga Agboola was decorated with Nigeria’s National Honour Medal of the Officer of the Order of Niger (OON) by President Muhammadu Buhari in recognition of his contributions to the advancement of technology, innovations and economic development.
