NASIMS Assures NPower Batch C2 Beneficiaries of Stipend Arrears Payment

As beneficiaries of the NPower Batch C Stream 2 expressed their displeasure over delay in the payment of their monthly stipends, the National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS) has promised to look into the situation.

Investors King gathered that the beneficiaries of the NPower Batch C2 scheme are being owed three months stipend.

The affected volunteers took to social media when NASIMS posted a happy new year image lamenting under the post.

They decried the continuous delay of their stipend payment despite their numerous appeals to the government.

In its response, the Npower management under the National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS) has promised to attend to them this new year.

“We acknowledge that we have not fulfilled their obligations towards the Batch C2 graduate category beneficiaries, and it is regrettable too.

“However, we are hoping to turn things around in this new year. Kindly remain diligent and positive while we do that,” the comment read.

The NPower programme is one of the four programmes under the National Social Investment Programme of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

Investors King reports that since its establishment in 2016 by President Muhammadu Buhari, three sets of Npower beneficiaries have completed their programme and exited from the scheme. The NPower programme was designed to equip Nigerians of age 18 to 35 with employability and entrepreneurship skills which will enable them to become practical solution providers in their various communities for national development.
