New Starlink Subscribers in Nigeria Will Pay $600 For The Hardware Setup

Following its launch in Nigeria, Elon Musk’s satellite internet service Starlink will charge Nigerians $600 (N442,000) for the hardware setup.

The satellite internet service arrival in Nigeria will see it offer a monthly subscription fee of $43 (N31,691) to users.

Some Nigerian subscribers who have pre-ordered the Starlink hardware setup disclosed that the price is quite fair due to its exceptional features.

Once it has been purchased, the whole setup comes with a WiFi Router, Cables, and base which is very easy to install.

The launch of the Internet service in Nigeria is coming months after it was approved on May 2022 by the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) to commence operation in Nigeria.

Investors King recalled that in May 2022, Musk confirmed that the high-speed internet, had received approval to begin operation in Nigeria, tweeting “Starlink approved by Nigeria and Mozambique”.

The NCC during the time of approval disclosed that the internet service was given two licenses to operate, which are the International Gateway Licence and Internet service provider license and will be trading as Starlink internet services Nigeria Limited.

Starlink is renowned for its impressive internet speed of 104 Mbps, a sharp contrast to the average cellular internet speed of 17.38 Mbps.

This implies that with Starlink, users can carry out activities that historically have not been possible with satellite internet.

Few analysts have disclosed that the arrival of Starlink in Nigeria will no doubt heighten competition among other telecom operators in the country.

How You Can Purchase The Starlink Satellite Internet Service in Nigeria

Getting the Starlink to your destination is not difficult. All you have to do is to visit the website at starlink.com and confirm that your location is covered by Starlink’s service area after inputting your address.

Once this is done, it takes you to a page where you will need to input your name, email, and card details then you click on order.

Most orders ship within 2-3 business days of being placed.
