Npower Clarifies “Work Nation” Programme, State It is Optional
Work Nation aims to train and bring beneficiaries closer to job opportunities around the globe
The management of Npower has clarified that the Work Nation programme which is an exit plan for batch C Stream 2 beneficiaries is optional and a personal choice, NASIM stated in a response message to inquiries.
It would be recalled that NASIM which is the management platform for all social intervention programmes of the federal government had earlier advised concerned beneficiaries to take advantage of the exit programme.
Work Nation aims to train and bring beneficiaries closer to job opportunities around the globe. Although intending participants are expected to take and pass the eligibility test.
The programme which was designed in collaboration with the federal government through the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs will match disengage Npower beneficiaries to various opportunities in the national and international job market.
A check on the program website shows a list of available opportunities including customer service, business analysis, sales management, accounting, engineering, and data analysis.
Others are constriction, human resources, full stack development and administrative assistance.
Meanwhile, NASIM has advised interested applicants for the Work Nation programme to take their eligibility test through their Npower Dashboard noting that anything besides that can lead to missing information.
A message by NASIM which was sighted by Investors King partly read: “Do not access the WORKNATION site directly via their site address as your personal information might be missing”.
Established in 2016, Npower is one of the social intervention programmes of the present administration to address youth unemployment.
Ever since its establishment, it has engaged millions of Nigerian youth between the age of 18 and 35 in various categories of N-Teach, N-Health, N-Agro, N-Build, N-Creative and N-Tech and N-Health.
In September 2022, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved the National Social Investment Programme (Establishment) Bill to give legal backing to all the government’s social intervention programmes.
The bill will ensure the continuity of Npower and other intervention programmes if passed to law by the National Assembly and subsequently signed by the president.
