Former Twitter CEO and Co-Founder, Jack Dorsay is launching a new social media platform named “Bluesky” which is now in Beta version.
“The word ‘Bluesky’ represents a wide space of possibilities,” the company stated on its website while looking for people to help it during beta testing.
Further information released by the company shows that Bluesky will distinguish itself with data privacy and gives a degree of Independence to content creators.
The social media platform which is still in the beta stage has already recorded over 30,000 sign-ups in just two days after launch with many people trooping to join in the early stage.
While acknowledging that Bluesky is built to be a competitor to other social media platforms, Jack Dorsay noted that the new platform will enable users to control what they see.
As expected, observers have been taunting Bluesky as an alternative to Twitter. Some even hold the opinion that Blueaky will be a better replacement for Twitter as Elon Musk is finding it hard to manage his newly bought company.
Since the world’s richest man completed the acquisition of Twitter, he has been engulfed with several issues such as the monthly subscription fee for verified accounts and the retrenchment of staff.
Investors King learnt that Bluesky was conceived in 2019 while Dorsay was still at the helm of affairs at Twitter. The project was designed to be a solution to the failure of Twitter. Bluesky even got funding to the tune of $13 million from Twitter, however, with no condition or commitment attached.
According to a blog post shared by the company, Bluesky will soon be available to the public. The company also promised to release more information about the Bluesky application as it develops.
Meanwhile, Bluesky has announced a number of job openings which include mobile application developer, react native expert, animation creator, and UI site manager.
The company added that interested applicants can join through its official website https://blueskyweb.xyz/join/software-engineer-mobile
