Npower Lists Prohibited Items For N-Creative and N-Tech Beneficiaries

The management of the Npower scheme has listed pressing iron, laptop, Mp3, metal and sharp objects, metal forks/spoons, and hard drugs as part of the prohibited items for N-Power Creative and N-Power Tech as the resume to their different camps for training.

Unlike the others, both N-Creative and N-Tech are expected to be camped for a three-month training and skill development. The training is divided into 1-month in-class and 2-month hands-on group projects.

Investors King learnt that some areas where beneficiaries will be trained and certified in the N-Creative category include Animation, Graphic Design, Script writing, Game Development, Visual Effect Artists, Project Management, Digital Media Publishing, and Post Production.

Interestingly, all participants of both N-Creative and N-Tech will be given laptop computers which will be used for their training. They are also entitled to the device after their training.

On the other hand, N-Tech participants will be trained for three months while the fourth month will be for assessment. Beneficiaries of the N-Tech are often linked to placement opportunities in the tech industry.

Some of the specialisations where beneficiaries will be trained include Web Development, Software Testers, App Development, Device Network Technician, Device Maintenance, and Assembly Plant Technician.

While undergoing the training and after the training, both N-Creative and N-Tech beneficiaries are given a monthly stipend of N30,000. Both programmes are designed for unemployed graduates and none graduates.

At the end of the three-month training period, participants are often linked to the local market while a number of them get recommendations that could help to secure a place in the marketplace.

It would be recalled that Npower was created in June 2016 to address the issues of youth unemployment in Nigeria and help to increase societal development. It only accommodates those between the age of 18 and 35.

Since its establishment, Npower has trained and engaged millions of Nigerian youth. Recently, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved the National Social Investment Programme (Establishment) bill which will give Npower and other social intervention programmes the statutory backing to survive beyond the current administration.
