Npower News: NASIM Promised to Pay August Stipend Soon

Amid concerns over the delay of August stipend, the management of Npower, NASIM has reaffirmed its commitment to pay August stipend soon.

Npower was created in 2016 as part of the plan to address the issue of youth unemployment. It is managed as part of the National Social Investment Programmes (NSIP) domicile in the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.

Investors King learnt that several Npower batch C, Stream 1 beneficiaries have expressed concern about the delay in August stipend. Some of them have taken to the social media handles of Npower to express their displeasure about the delayed payment several weeks after NASIM claimed it has initiated August payment.

One of the beneficiaries with the name Williams Anthony noted that many of the beneficiaries are cash crushed and they can’t wait to receive their August stipend. He questioned what might be the delay.

Similarly, another beneficiary, Olumuyiwa Olaide lamented the excess arrears which Npower owes her. Olaide stated that the last time she received her monthly stipend was in the month of May 2022.

However, NASIM in a response to some of the beneficiaries stated that all backlog will be paid. The management of the Npower scheme reveals that technical errors are often the cause of backlogs while its technical team will soon resolve all backlogs.

Furthermore, while calling for patience from the beneficiaries, NASIM added that August stipend will soon be paid.

The messages from NASIM partly read: “Please kindly be patient as you will receive your August stipend soon. N-Power!”.

Meanwhile, NASIM has clarified that Batch C, Stream 1 do not need to reprint their redeployment letter.

It will be recalled that some batch C, Stream 1 beneficiaries reported that they received notification for new deployment.

However, in a message posted on its Twitter handle, Npower stated that “there has been a technical error which has reshuffled some batch C, Stream 1 beneficiaries deployment. Beneficiaries such issue should refrain from re-printing new deployment letters as there’s no new deployment for batch C, Strem 1”.
