Investors exchanged 200,919,932 shares worth N1.446 billion in 3,976 deals during the trading hours of Monday. Banking stocks were the most traded stocks with Sterling Bank leading with 90,895,915 shares valued at N131,899,256.31. Fidelity Bank followed with 11,602,527 and N39,742,159.06.
Breaking down each sector, the banking sector lost 91 basis points (bps) as stocks of Zenith Bank dipped by 2.33%, Sterling Bank lost 2.01% and UBA closed with 1.38% decline. Fidelity Bank posted 1.76% gain.
The consumer goods appreciated by 55 bps on the back of improvement in the value of Flour Mill, NB and Honey Flour. Intbrew lost 0.99%.
The industrial sector closed with 35bps declined while oil and gas sector was unchanged.
The market capitalisation of all listed equities declined by N30 billion from N26.964 trillion it closed on Friday to N26.994 trillion. The NGX All-Share Index depreciated by 0.11% to 49,991.41 index points, down from 50,045.83 index points it settled on Friday.
