South Africa Approves eVisas for Nigerians

Nigerians interested in going to South Africa can now apply through the new eVisa and receive their visas directly in their emails.

The South African government has officially announced the rolling out of electronic visas for Nigerian citizens and a few other countries. The eVisa system, according to the government of South Africa, should ‘contribute to streamlining and modernising the visa application process for Nigerians.’

Although visas vary for different purposes of travel, the eVisa will be available for tourist and short-term visitors visa category for Nigerians. However, eligibility and requirements may still vary depending on the type of visa a traveller may require.

How to Apply

Getting the eVisa is a pretty straightforward process that requires a completed online form. The eVisa forms can be accessed via any internet-enabled smart device – smartphones, tablets, computers or laptops, etc.

Before filling out the form, a valid Nigerian passport is also required as well as a debit or credit card, and a working email address.

  3. Pay for the e-Visa fee using a credit or debit card

Basic Requirements Before Applying

The requirements for filling out the eVisa application form are the applicant’s basic information such as their name, address, or date of birth. Travellers will also be required to provide their passport details. Candidates are advised to enter the details as correctly as possible as any mistake may lead to a delay in the entire visa process.
