Shiba Inu Update: Shibarium Layer- 2 Private Testnet Goes Live

The developers behind Shibarium recently announced that Shibarium Layer-2 private testnet is live. According to Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer, the Shiba team in partnership with Unification is working on shibarium layer-2 solution and the platform is getting close to completion.

Shytoshi further asserted that following the private testnet for Shibarium, the team is working on updates and is only accessible to SHIB and Unification team. Meanwhile, Shiba Inu investors can only access Shibarium layer-2 platform when the mode changes to public testnet, this will happen after recording success on the private testnet.

In a medium post published by Unification, the company said, “In addition to the extensive Network, Protocol & new partnership developments discussed above, Unification Foundation is proud to continue development of Shibarium, the next prominent L2 in partnership with the Shib Army, enabling rapid low-cost transactions optimized for gaming.

“While the scale of the project doesn’t allow a definitive timeline to be released as of yet, the second version of Shibarium’s private testnet is live and under optimization across both teams with plans of a public testnet release to come very soon.”

Shibarium is a blockchain network (layer-2 solution) proposed by Shiba Inu creator, Ryoshi. The layer-2 solution will be built on the existing Ethereum network allowing migration of SHIB to Shibarium.

According to Ryoshi, the primary goal of Shibarium is to reduce transaction fees in the Shiba ecosystem. Shiba project lead said, “Shibarium will offer low fees for every service, game or whatever that builds on it”
