Seplat, Conoil, Academy Lead Stock Gainers on Monday
Stocks of Seplat, Conoil, Academy and 33 others closed in the green to extend the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) year-to-date to 10.29 percent.
Investors transacted 341,516,320 shares worth N3.692 billion in 6,417 deals during the trading hours of Tuesday, against 435,799,401 shares valued at N3.441 billion that exchanged hands in 6,482 transactions on Monday.
The market value of listed equities grew by N263 billion from N25.124 trillion on Monday to N25.387 trillion on Tuesday. NGX All-share Index appreciated by 1.04 percent to 47,111.21 index points.
Breaking down the performance of each sector, the NGX banking index appreciated by 215bps on Zenith Bank, Access Bank, UBA and Fidelity Bank gains. Ecobank, Union Bank, Wema Bank and Sterling Bank closed in the red.
NGX consumer goods index also gained 19bps on Nnfm (+4.05%), Interbrew (+1.75%), Honey Flour (+1.47%) and Flour Mill (+1.05%). Champion (-0.42%) lost points.
The oil and Gas index and the industrial index added 543bps and 38bps, respectively. See top gainers and losers below.
