BUA Foods Top Stock Gainers on Thursday

The newly listed company on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) BUA Foods Plc led stock gainers on Thursday with a 10 percent gain to extend its total gain since listed on Wednesday to 20 percent.

Investors exchanged 174,610,725 shares valued at N2.133 billion in 3,715 deals during the trading hours of Thursday. The market value of listed equities rose to N23.497 trillion while NGX All-Share Index gained 0.30 percent to 43,607.94 index points.

Sectorial breakdown showed the NGX Banking Index gained 44bps on UBN (+3.70%), ACCESS (+1.60%), UBA (+0.62%) and ZENITHBANK (+0.20%). ETI (-2.81%), FIDELITYBK (-1.96%) and WEMABANK (-1.27%) lost points.

The NGX Consumer Goods Index shed 12bps on UNILEVER (-3.45%). Gainers were NNFM (+0.69%) and HONYFLOUR (+0.29%). The NGX Oil and Gas Index lost 90bps on OANDO (-5.15%) while the NGX Industrial index shed 39bps on BUACEM (-1.43%).

The Exchange year-to-date return expands to 2.09 percent as a total of 24 stocks gained points against 13 stocks that closed in the red. See top gainers and losers below.
