The Federal Government of Nigeria-organised Npower scheme has said that it is possible for the beneficiaries who are owed their stipends to be paid before the year runs out.
The Npower scheme, which is supposed to be an empowerment scheme by the Federal Government of Nigeria has been widely criticised for its failure to actually empower those who have registered as beneficiaries, as it has not met the required payment stipulations.
The backlash from the payment issues has caused the scheme’s management to take measures to address the payment issues. At a point, the management tried to address the payment problems by asking the beneficiaries to ensure that their bank account details were correct, and that they had undergone all necessary steps.
Some of them complained later on that even though they had done this, the payment issues still remained. Last week, the Npower management went on to state that some of the beneficiaries had not seen a resolution to their payment issues because they failed to adhere to the instructions provided by the management.
News going round as at today is that even though Npower has not paid its beneficiaries yet, there may still be a surprise in store for them by December. Even though they don’t have a confirmation of the date, a surprise payment this month is sure to lift the moods of the beneficiaries leading into either Christmas or the new year, considering the rising prices of goods and services at this time.
It has also been reported that the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq has launched a new National Risk Analysis Tool Dashboard which is tailored towards improving the risk preparedness and crisis response of others.
The programme, which was launched in Abuja, is particularly to ensure that the people have a much better response in the event of a disaster.
