NGX Opens the Week in Red, Sheds 0.10 Percent

The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) opened the week in red on Monday as fewer stocks closed in the green.

Investors exchanged 190,959,987 shares valued at N2.353 billion in 3,462 transactions during the trading hours of Monday.

While the NGX All-Share Index depreciated by 0.10 percent from 38,943.87 index points it closed on Friday to 38,906.42 index points on Monday. The market value of listed stocks contracted by N19 billion from N20.290 trillion it settled on Friday to N20.271 trillion.

EkoCorp Plc led the most traded stocks with 40000000.00 shares valued at N231,600,000.00. Followed by UBA’s 10809336.00 shares worth N82,231,110.05.

In terms top gainers, Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc led gainers with N0.05 or 9.62 percent to close at N0.57 a share.  Chams Plc came second with N0.02 or 9.52 percent to settle at N0.23 a share. See other details below.
