Wema Bank to Reward Customers in 76th Anniversary Promo

Wema Bank Plc has said it will engage its loyal customers on social media with various kinds of giveaways in the coming weeks to celebrate its 76th anniversary.

It said this in a statement titled ‘Wema Bank celebrates 76 years of customer satisfaction’ on Sunday.

“To commemorate the milestone with its loyal customers, Wema Bank would engage the bank’s loyal customers on social media with various kinds of giveaways in the coming weeks,” it said.

The statement said the innovative and digital-driven financial institution was commemorating its 76th anniversary, starting from May 2, 2021.

It said, “The longest-surviving indigenous Nigerian bank started operations in 1945 as Agbonmagbe Bank Limited. It became Wema Bank in 1969 after a change in ownership.

“It became a Plc in 1987, got listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1990 and obtained a universal banking licence from the Central Bank of Nigeria in 2001.”

According to the statement, from such humble beginnings, Wema Bank now operates the largest digital bank in Africa, fully in use in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
