Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe Takes Over as Fidelity Bank CEO

Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, the former Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, has officially taken over as the bank’s Chief Executive Director (CEO) following the retirement of Mr. Nnamdi J. Okonkwo, the former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of Fidelity Bank Plc.

In July 2020, the board of the bank announced the appointment of Mrs. Onyeali-Ipe as the MD/CEO designate of the bank, expected to assume office today January 1, 2021, after Central Bank of Nigeria’s approval.

Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe has now assumed her new position with 30 years of banking experience that includes years with Standard Chartered Bank Plc, Zenith Bank and Enterprise Bank Plc.

In 2015, she joined Fidelity Bank’s board of directors and helped transform the financial institution in Lagos and the entire Southwest region. Mrs. Onyeali-Ikpe graduated from the famous University of Nigeria, Nsukka and also holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from the prestigious Kings College in London.

Some of her several professional certifications were obtained from Wharton School, INSEAD School of Business, Harvard Business School, London Business School and many more.

Other professional certifications were obtained from Harvard Business School, Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, INSEAD School of Business, London Business School, and more.

On November 30, 2020, Mrs. Onyeali-Ikpe invested N12.8 million or acquired 5 million shares of Fidelity Bank Plc to show her confidence in the future of the bank despite COVID-19 and the drop in economic productivity.
