Link Your National Identification Number(NIN) to Your SIM Card

Following the latest directive from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to link all the registered Subscriber Identification Modules (SIMs) to valid National Identification Numbers, telecommunications operators have announced USSD codes for easy proccess as shown below.

MTN Subcribers

Dial *785# or visit the telecommunication company app at myMTNAPP or click MTN online portal to link your NIN to your MTN Nigeria mobile number. You will receive an OTP that will expire in 5 minutes on your MTN mobile number, use it to authorise MTN Nigeria to use your data as intended.

Completing this form grants your permission for us to use your data as intended,” MTN stated.

Airtel Africa Subscribers

Dial *121*1# on your Airtel Africa mobile number, then press 1 to enter your 11 digit NIN and hit the submit button.

You will receive an SMS “Thank you for providing your NIN details ***********. SMS confirmation will be sent to you once your NIN has been validated and updated.

Finally, for Glo Subscribers

Send “UpdateNIN, NIN, FirstName, LastName” to 109 on your Glo mobile number.

For example, you will dial UPDATENIN then follow by your 11 digit NIN, your first name and last name as shown below.
